LEARNING
The Church of the Resurrection Photography Group meets one Saturday morning per month at our Leawood KS campus to share our images and discuss topics related to photography. We begin with basic concepts and gradually build to help you gain confidence with your equipment. We practice our skills in a no-risk group setting plus we schedule outings to the Powell Gardens Butterfly Festival, the Plaza lights, the Renaissance Festival, etc. to fellowship and share our love for photography.
The group is led by Tom Bradley, a professional photographer with over 35 years of experience (Bradley Photography), and Steve Conley, a long time amateur photographer. The sessions are fun and they generally include both a lecture and hands-on experience.
Please contact us for the specific dates and locations.
Educational topics include:
⇒ fundamentals of digital photography
⇒ bootcamp - getting to know your camera
⇒ moving beyond automatic mode
⇒ flash photography
⇒ family photography
⇒ image manipulation (Photoshop and other software)
⇒ macro photography
⇒ night photography
⇒ event photography
⇒ drone photography
and much more! The group decides the topics we discuss.
SERVING
The team serves churches and other non-profit groups by photographing events such a Candlelight Christmas Eve, Easter, car shows, SPST graduation, and various community events plus a variety of mission programs including Matthew’s Ministry, Bless the School, Sacred Steps, BBM, and many others. We also provide no-cost services for foster children and low income families.
Our mission is simple. We want to improve our photography skills and then serve God with those talents.
